Established in 2016, BG Engineering Group, LLC (BG) is an emerging engineering firm specializing in transportation design. Our focus is bridge and highway design for agencies such as the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), various Ohio counties, and local agencies. BG staff members are unique, having technical experience in multiple engineering disciplines. BG is a certified DBE and SBE with ODOT. Our current ODOT prequalifications include Non-Complex and Complex Roadway Design, Level 1 and Level 2 Bridge Design, Level 1 Bridge Inspection, Safety Study, Limited Right of Way, Limited and Complex Lighting.

At BG, project managers carry both Complex Roadway and Level 2 Bridge Design prequalifications. They are highly knowledgeable and capable of managing both bridge and/or roadway projects. Our clients require experienced project managers who communicate well and respond with a sense of urgency for successful project completion.

BG offers a full line of bridge engineering services to meet your project demands. Our team has experience in all types of ODOT structure types. Our staff members have completed bridge replacement projects from small culverts to long span bridges over divided highways, railroads, and major waterways. Our bridge design experience includes total replacements, deck replacements, superstructure replacements, deck overlays, and bridge widening. Additional related experience includes retaining wall design, noise wall design, hydraulic analysis, deck drainage analysis, and foundation design.

Roadway Engineering

BG provides a full range of design services for highways and roadway network systems. Our design team has experience with roadway projects ranging from minor lane widening to complex urban interstate reconstruction. BG staff members have experience with complex horizontal and vertical geometry, maintenance of traffic alternative analysis, intersection design, pavement replacement, and pedestrian facilities. Our roadway design experience includes developing detailed maintenance of traffic plans to comply with the requirements set by ODOT. All BG staff are proficient in MicroStation V8I SELECT series 4 (SS4) OpenRoads Technology for design and 3D modeling for all roadway projects.
